Nordy Sale

2 min read
Hi everyone,
I've decided to sell my Nordy Stallion Aldeon fav.me/d52ehpi

With graduation coming up, and the hopes of finding a real job, i just don't have enough time to draw as much as i used to. I'm really sad that i have to give him away, as he was one of the few things i've ever won in a contest. So i'm going to be really picky of who i decide to give this boy to. This contest will be a drawing contest. All entrants must draw at least one picture of Aldeon.

Art Auction Details:

:bulletgreen: the auction will start December 9, 2012 at 12pm eastern time, it will end January 9, 2013 at midnight. Please send me a link view comment or notes.
:bulletgreen: Can be in any medium BUT NO LINEARTS. i want to see that you are willing to put effort into trying for this boy.
:bulletgreen: i'm looking to give him to someone that doesn't have many nordys. So if you have 5 or more you will most likely not become the owner.
:bulletgreen: You can draw more entries if you would like, but the limit is 3 total. The number of entries may not play a significant role in who i choose.

:star: The Winner is :iconlacework-stables: lacework-stables.deviantart.co… :star: I took a long time deciding, and in the end it came down to the fact that :iconlacework-stables: only had one other Nordanner.

Thank you all for participating.

Contest Entries:

Well this is my last week in Colorado Springs. This time next Sunday i'll have been to visit my horse for the first time in 8 weeks, and will be eating dinner with my family.

this has been the journey of a lifetime. it all started 11 years ago when my Grandma bought me the first Cloud book. Had someone told me at the age of 9 that in 11 years i would be able to see this wild stallion in person i wouldn't have believed them. i've learned so much in the 8 weeks that i've been in Colorado, and have even done some illegal things, but i can't go into detail because...well they could still catch me. My actions were needed in order to help wild horses, that's all i can say.

taking photographs of wild horses is something that i would love to do for a living. No words can explain the aw and freedom you feel in being able to see these wild horses in their natural habitat. it's something that everyone should get to experience before the BLM takes it away from us. I've been utterly disgusted with how the BLM is managing the wild horses that belong to the public. It's tragic that the East Coast, where i'm from, has no understanding of the vastness of our public lands. it's impossible to understand until you witness it for yourself. for the first four weeks i was here i couldn't get over how much space there was.

i'm truly saddened at the prospect of returning home, but at the same time i'm ready. i miss my family, i'd never truly appreciated how awesome it is to have a family like mine. we're such a tight knit family and i take it for granted. we all get along, and everyone knows everyone else's business. it may sound a little over bearing but in all honesty it's nice. i could go to anyone of my aunts and tell them how my day is going and they'll listen.

I seriously can't wait to see my horse! i've never been away from him for more than a week. it's going to be interesting to see what he does when i walk through the barn doors. i'm also really sad to learn that two of the horses at my barn will be gone when i get back. Copper's owner has lost interest in horses and so he's been brought back to his old barn where they are trying to sell him. Neeto, i'm really sad to hear is leaving. he's the gorgeous buckskin paint that's in my gallery. he's quite a handful and the owner has been trying to sell him for a while. the cool thing is that i know where he's moving to and his new owner said i can visit whenever i'd like. I think it will be cool to go see, she's got an old bull riding bull that's since been castrated. but i think it would be cool to photograph him!

Well that's my life right now in a nut shell. Don't usually post things like this on DA, but it felt fitting since i've posted pictures of my trip. Now i'm off to make a video to show my family!!

So i've officially met Cloud, the wild stallion of the rockies! it was awesome.

the horses are so different in their natural setting. they structure of a band is something you don't get to see in domestic horses. You can a little, but it's not the same. there is more to a wild horse, they're so much more sensitive to body language and they're just so interesting to watch.

i just got back today though, so i'll upload some of my favorite photos when i get the chance. it might not be till the weekend.

Wild Horses

2 min read
OMG so this past weekend was AWESOME!!! i was able to go camping up in a herd management area called Sand Wash Basin! the horses are some of the most colorful in the U.S. One night my boss and i swear one of the horses came up to our tent! it was the middle of the night and we both heard something walking in the grass and the next morning there were signs something big had been walking through the area. and the only two possibilities it could be are a wild horse or an elk. but the elk are extremely skittish so that only leaves room for one of the wild horses, especially since they were sleeping only a few miles away.

next weekend i'm off to the Pryor mountains in Montana, i will hopefully get to see Cloud and his family. we're maybe driving through yellowstone! i've never been there so i'm really excited.

i can't decide if i should post pics or not. i sadly don't have much time and i took around 518 photos...SO i might upload some of my favs, but i'm worried about art theft and i really don't want to put a watermark on the photo and ruin it  But if you'd like to see them i can possible post a few of my favs.

Hi everyone, so i just arrived in Colorado Springs!! i was accepted to intern with The Cloud Foundation, which works with wild mustangs up in the Pryor Mountains. My office hours start Monday morning so i sadly won't know how busy i'm going to be yet. I'll try to draw on some of my down time, but i have a feeling i'm going to be pretty busy. I know that the last week in June i'll hopefully be camping up in the mountains photographing some of the mustangs!

If you have any questions just let me know!
